BMW Today – Episode 33: Luxury class highlights – THE 8 Golden Thunder Edition.

BMW Ahmed Mazen 2 May 2021

Welcome to BMW Today. Let’s talk about luxury sports cars. Shall we? Fascinating dynamic performance is the striking quality of the BMW 8 Series models. And now besides power, they also have a touch of extravagance in their look. The BMW 8 Series Edition Golden Thunder demonstrates once again the capacity of BMW Individual to turn special vehicles into unique automobiles for customers with the very highest expectations in terms of style and quality. The exclusive exterior and interior design features add unmistakable accentuations. These give the edition models the character of a custom-built vehicle.

A body finish in Sapphire Black metallic or Frozen Black metallic and carefully selected colour accentuations in gold underscore the athleticism of the luxury sports cars. The dark look is supplemented by BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features and black brake calipers for the M sports brake system. Here, a striking contrast is created by means of golden accentuation lines running from the front apron to the side skirts and on into the rear apron.

The BMW 8 Series Golden Thunder Edition Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé available from September 2020 onwards.

BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupé: Fuel consumption weighted combined in l/100km: 10.2–10.1 (NEDC); 11.0–10.9 (WLTP), CO2 emissions weighted combined in g/km: 234–232 (NEDC); 252–248 (WLTP).

Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. For more information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures, see

For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at
