“The greenest electric car will be a BMW” – this is what BMW is aiming for. Becoming the most sustainable car...
Learn in this video how to use the Efficiency Trainer in fully-electric BMW models with BMW Operating System 8. This feature helps you to adapt your use of the pedals to the traffic situation when you drive in the EFFICIENT Mode. Press the ""My Modes"" switch in the centre console and select EFFICIENT. Or simply tell your BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant: ”Hey BMW - switch to EFFICIENT Mode.” Now your BMW will regulate energy consumption to maximize your driving range by automatically adjusting certain settings, for example the energy consumption of air conditioning. And it will show you an efficient use of driving energy in each display – but only, when no cruise control function is active. Your ePower meter in the instrument cluster display
shows a blue highlight. Use the pedal modestly to stay in this efficient range of acceleration. A blue glow indicates that you are doing fine. The bonus range display in blue shows how much range you have gained with an efficient driving style. If you speed up too powerfully, the highlights and displays turn grey. Also an arrow tips you off to ease the accelerator. Depending on your country and equipment the Efficiency highlight intelligently adjusts to your route ahead. It prompts you to take your foot off the accelerator in order to slow down as beneficially as possible. An icon in the instrument cluster indicates up to several 100 meters before approaching for example: speed limit changes, junctions or roundabouts. Another Efficiency Trainer Icon shows when you are not decelerating enough, for example when approaching a slow vehicle ahead. Want more details? On the Central information Display go to “Vehicle apps” – “Live vehicle”. When “Adaptive content” is activated and you are in EFFICIENT Mode, you get an evaluation of your driving efficiency since the start of your journey with scores out of ten for anticipation, acceleration and speed.
